The plugin “Quick Featured Images Pro” for WordPress is out now in version 6.1. That version contains the former changes of versions 6.0.1 and 6.0.2.
Changes in 6.1
More usable selection of images in “Replace”
Published in March 12, 2017. A huge usability shift is implemented in the “Replace” part of the section “Set, replace, remove”. In the former versions you could select the images in a list of thumbnails. If there is a high number of images in the library that list became difficult to use.
Now the list is replaced by a button which opens the media library dialog box. Within the box you can search via a search field for images and you have always a usable list of images to select.
Support of WordPress galleries in “Presets”
In “Preset Featured Images” the option “Use the first content image as default featured image” is enhanced: it recognizes not only embedded single images but also images of WordPress standard galleries to set the first image as featured image of the post.
Changes in 6.0.2
Published in March 9, 2017. A bug in the “Replace” part of the section ‘Set, replace, remove’ caused no change of featured images. Version 6.0.2 fixed that bug. Replacing selected featured images by a selected single image works again.
Changes in 6.0.1
Published in March 9, 2017. Version 5.4.2 of “Quick Featured Images Pro” introduced the check for existence of the plugin ‘Video Thumbnail’. That should avoid a conflict in not setting a video thumbnail if a featured image was already set. That caused the effect that no preset default featured image was set at all if the “Video Thumbnail” plugin was active.
In the meanwhile the plugin “Video Thumbnail” was changed. In version 6.0.1 of “Quick Featured Images Pro” the check is removed completely. Now there is no conflict between both plugins any more. Both video thumbnails and preset default featured images are set automatically now.
