Version 8.3.3: Revised URL recognitions and ready for WordPress 4.9.2

Recognition of protocol relative image paths

Before version 8.3.2 of “Quick Featured Images Pro” (QFIP)  image paths starting with a double slash (“//”) were not recognized as protocol relative paths. The new version 8.3.3 of QFIP fixes that error.

Paths in this style are  now correctly extended with the protocol which the server of the installed WordPress site uses. The images on the external server can be found correctly.

Revised recognition pattern for IFRAME embeds

QFIP considers now videos which use the privacy-safe URLs of the YouTube “nocookie” domain. With that improvement QFIP grabs the thumbnails of more YouTube videos to set them as featured images automatically.

Ready for WordPress 4.9.2

QFIP 8.3.3 was tested successfully with the new WordPress version 4.9.2 which was published yesterday.

Get “Quick Featured Images Pro”

Stefano April 25, 2016 California

This does EXACTLY what I needed - got a wordpress site that has a whole archive of articles with no featured image set. The Pro version allowed me to bulk set the first image of the article to the featured image. Saved a load of time, well done!
